In his late teens and early twenties, Joe served in the Korean War throughout the early 1950’s. Upon returning from war, he met and married his wife, Patti. Together, they started a family. By the 1970’s, he helped popularize rendezvous events in Mahoning and Columbiana County (pre-1840 living history reenactments)! During this time, he also helped found the Salem Italian American Club! For years, he volunteered with the Men’s Garden Club to help teach children how to garden! Meanwhile, he taught himself how to oil paint and wood carve, and is currently a member of the National Woodcarvers Association. He regularly gifts his works of art to neighbors, friends and family. Today, Joe is a father of four, a grandfather of twelve, and a great grandfather of six – soon to be eight! If all of this isn’t impressive enough, Joe has also recently taken up learning how to play the ukulele, and is learning Tai Chi. Joe is a very kindhearted person, an excellent role model, and most importantly, a lifelong learner. We’re truly honored to not only know him, but to also be able to call him an official Good Noodle.
